What this website is
Inner West Bathroom Renovations is a referral service for bathroom, ensuite and laundry work in Sydney's Inner West and neighbouring Five Dock. You tell us about the room. We arrange a measure. A licensed builder provides a written quote and, if you go ahead, carries out the work under a contract with you.
We are not a building company. Saying that up front is more useful than letting you work it out halfway through a conversation.
Who does the work
Renovation work is carried out in partnership with Coastal Renovation Group, a licensed NSW builder. Licence and insurance details are provided on request — at the measure, on the phone, or whenever you ask. You can check a licence yourself on the NSW Fair Trading register.
Specialist work stays with specialists. Asbestos removal is done by a licensed asbestos removalist. Plumbing and electrical work are done by appropriately licensed tradespeople.
Why older houses
Most renovation advice online is written for newer homes on concrete slabs. It does not fit a Victorian terrace with a lean-to on brick piers, a Federation cottage in a conservation area, or a 1960s walk-up where everything goes up three flights of stairs.
This site exists to give that housing its own advice: how to deal with a timber floor under a tiled shower, when a party wall matters, what heritage rules usually do and do not cover, why asbestos testing comes first, and how access changes the price.
What we do not claim
We have no reviews to display because this is a new site. We have not written testimonials, invented a star rating or published a count of completed jobs. We will not describe ourselves as award-winning or number one.
We also will not give a firm price over the phone. In an old house, the floor, the walls, the access and the approvals move the number too much to guess.

The deposit on residential building work in NSW is capped at 10 per cent. For work over $20,000, home building compensation cover must be in place before a deposit is requested.
